Tax compliance for Nigerians earning abroad

You earn in dollars or naira.Your tax is still Nigerian.

Duetale works out exactly where you stand — reviewed and signed off by a licensed CITN practitioner, not guesswork.

First filing season under the 2025 Tax Acts closes 31 March 2027

Where most people are

Three positions

Almost everyone earning abroad from Nigeria is in one of three positions. None of them is unusual, and none of them is a disaster.

01

Not registered

You've never registered for tax here, and you're not sure whether you were supposed to.

02

Registered, not filing

You have a TIN somewhere from a job years ago, and nothing has been filed since.

03

Filing, unsure

Something gets filed each year. You couldn't say with confidence whether it's right.

What none of them tell you is what it would actually cost to fix — which is the thing worth knowing before you decide anything.

The first thing we're offering

Compliance position review

01

You send twelve months

Records of what you earned abroad, in whatever shape you have them. Bank statements, invoices, platform exports.

02

A licensed practitioner reviews it

A CITN practitioner works through your position against the 2025 Acts — income, residency, reliefs, what applies.

03

You get a written position

Where you stand today, what you would owe, what registering properly costs, and what it saves you. In plain language.

Published rates

What Nigeria charges

These are the personal income tax bands under the 2025 Acts. They apply to your worldwide income as a Nigerian resident, foreign earnings included. Most people we speak to have never seen them laid out.

₦0 – ₦800,000 0%
₦800,001 – ₦3,000,000 15%
₦3,000,001 – ₦12,000,000 18%
₦12,000,001 – ₦25,000,000 21%
₦25,000,001 – ₦50,000,000 23%
Above ₦50,000,000 25%

Bands apply progressively — each slice of income is taxed at its own rate, not the whole amount at the top rate. Reliefs and allowances change the final figure. This is published information, not advice on your situation.

How this works, structurally

Duetale does not file your taxes.

A licensed CITN practitioner does. In Nigeria that is a legal requirement, not a technical one, and software cannot replace it.

Duetale does not hold your money.

Tax payments go directly to the authority against a payment reference. Only our service fee ever touches our account.

Duetale is software and coordination.

We handle the records, the computation, the chasing and the paperwork. The professional judgment belongs to professionals.

We're taking a small first group deliberately. There isn't a polished product behind this yet — right now it's a licensed practitioner, a founder, and a lot of conversations with people in exactly your position. That's why it's refundable and why the date is in writing.

Accountability

Who is building this

Duetale is built by licensed CITN practitioners and software engineers who have spent seven years building cross-border payments and digital asset infrastructure — remittance systems operating across sixty-plus markets, custody architecture, and settlement rails.

The tax work is not the engineers'. That is done by licensed CITN practitioners, which is both the law and the point.
